Why register?
For more than a century, the people of Lebanon have been exploring the world and exporting their culture. As a result,
millions of Lebanese are scattered around the globe. Over the years, our countrymen have achieved brilliant careers and
attained exceptional levels of education under different skies. Many of them have lost contact with old friends and
family. Under such conditions, it is of the utmost importance to preserve, beyond the borders of our motherland, the
characteristics of the Lebanese identity, one of which is the strong sense of community that we used to share back home.
Thus came up the opportunity to bridge the gap and form a global Lebanese community.
The Lebanese White Pages (leb.org) were born in 1996 from the minds of two Lebanese
expatriates: Nagib Hobeica and Hani Raad.
Its mission is to provide the necessary linkage that will help the Lebanese community stick together and improve
its solidarity: leb.org is a free service and most importantly a non-profit organization whose only goal is to
bring Lebanese people together in an environment which is free from politics and religion. Leb.org is your
virtual nation. As one of our subscribers said: "Nothing ever matches the
importance of this endeavor in fostering a national sense of Lebanese identity, one that cuts across sects and regions."
Leb.org has been conceived to be simple and straightforward. Registration
is very quick and benefits are huge. You are already 51,788 to have registered. Some of you have found
friends, some of you family... others have found jobs and a few have discovered the love of their
life. Anyone can browse and find lebanese. In the same way that you are given the opportunity to communicate with your
fellow citizens, it is your turn to take this necessary step to close the circle. Give the chance for other people to
find you - who knows who might be out there looking for you? So register
now in your national directory. Of course, leb.org realizes that your privacy
is precious and only the information that you choose to disclose while registering will be made public. Leb.org guarantees no
spam and no e-mail address disclosure through its website.
Leb.org has made an
important effort in order to realize this dream and provide the service for free. The only reward for leb.org is to see
this community grow and benefit from an increasing solidarity between Lebanese people that it aims to reunite. For the
same reason, please visit this site to check out new services, update your
info regularly, promote its use to your Lebanese friends, and help this
community grow. Always remember:
"Ask not what your
country can do for you but what you can do for your country." (Gibran Khalil Gibran, The New Frontier, 1925 -
JFK, Inaugural Address, 1961)
Keep the spirit of Lebanon alive wherever you are!
