Christine Eid Haddad - Marhaba - My mother is from Beirut, Lebanon and my father is from Jordan. I was born in Amman, Jordan when my family moved there, however, I am proud of the two nationalities I inherited. I came to Los Angeles in 1961 as a 7-year-old child with my parents and siblings. When I returned to Lebanon in 1998 for the first time after a 37 year absence, I literally could not hold back my tears of joy. I was sobbing out loud in the airplane as it was landing like a lost child who found her way home! It was amazing to remember the airport, my grandparents home, the neighborhood I grew up in and of course exciting to see all my relatives. I am proud of my Lebanese heritage.
