Karim Salim Edouard Al-Dahdah - I was born in 1982 in Ras-Beirut, son of Sélim
El-Dahdah and Wissal Yazigi. The Al-Dahdah are
a maronite feudal family from the Ftouh-
Kesrouan region and their roots go back to
Akoura, in the district of Jbeil. My father grew up
in Gemmayzé, rue Gouraud, son of Edouard and
Rose Maroun and grandson of Sélim and Sophie
El-Khazen, sister of cheikh Youssef El-Khazen
from Ajaltoun. The Yazigi are also a feudal
family from Marmarita, a greek-orthodox town
in the Syrian mountainous region known as
Wadi-el-Nassara. My mother is the daughter of
Sélim Yazigi and Haďfa El-Cheikh. She grew up in
Homs and was educated in Damascus and
London. In 1984, amid the bloody events in
Lebanon, my family moved to Brazilia
(Hazmieh), a quiet eastern neighborhood of
Beirut where I grew up. I went to school at the
Collčge Notre-Dame de Jamhour and received
the Prix d'Honneur de Philosophie in 1999. In
2004, I graduated with an MA in Advertising
from the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts
(ALBA) in Beirut. In the fall of the same year, I
moved to the USA to pursue a master's degree
in Illustration at the Savannah College of Art and
Design in Georgia, and graduated in May 2005. I
was then offered an Assistant Art Director
position at Publications International Ltd., a big
book publishing company in Chicago, Illinois.Assistant Art Director, Publications International, Ltd. 5600 North Sheridan Road - Chicago, IL, USA Aramoun (Kesrouan) - 1982 - http://www.karimaldahdah.com/ ( disclaimer) Record Last Updated on April 27th, 2008 Record Created on July 3rd, 2005
