John El Khazen - I was born in Beirut but have lived away from Lebanon for most of my life, in Canada. The last time I visited Lebanon was during 1983, but I haven't gone back since. I have so many relatives in Lebanon whom I don't know. My background also includes a Palestinian side. I sincerely thank Nagib and Hani for creating this wonderful service to unite us all. Some thoughts... We all have a purpose in life, no matter how "big" or "small" we think we are...I feel that among the most important things is to realize your dreams, to liberate ourselves from all forms of oppression and slavery in every sense of the word, whether it be in the classroom, at work, at home, society in general, or others. We should not and cannot be controlled by fear or anticipation of it,... we, the people, have the power to change, and have a positive effect on others, without being arrogant or self-righteous. We all deserve to be happy and see others happy as well, even though wars, death, and destruction seem to never end, ultimately, our drive for control, power, and ruling over others will bring an end to our human race.I'm not trying to be overdramatic but saying it's human nature is only an excuse for our weaknesses and deficiences.
When you oppress people for so long, it's only a matter of time before the people will rise up and revolt for justice, freedom, and eventually peace. We are all human and deserve to live as free individuals... Take care and feel free to email me.... I really hope that Lebanon becomes a true model to the rest of the world where one can live and love life and unite our people/land against our enemy/enemies. We are all human after all and there is no dignity in war, destruction, or death.
