Mary Knieser - I'm researching my family's origins. My grandparents were Najem Knieser Bischalaney & Anna George Saab from Salima and Saleem Tannous Baracat from Louiza and Adla Nahara Rizkallah from Aarbanyeh. They came to the US in the mid-1890s and eventually lived in Olean & Buffalo, NY and Charleston, WV. A few immigrated to Brazil (would love to re-connect with you too). It humbles me to think about them and remember their courage to leave Lebanon and began again in foreign places with new languages & customs. Thanks to all those who have provided information.
